Job Description

Position Summary : Conduct Pilates individual training sessions with members and guests. Assess members & guests' physical condition and create unique workout routines for them. Explain the exercises in a clear and efficient way, while demonstrating how to do the exercises and use the training equipment and/or Pilates reformer safely, to avoid injuries.


Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct pilates classes and/or individual training sessions
• Evaluate participant fitness levels and health conditions
• Build individualized exercise programs
• Explain exercises in detail and suggest alternatives if needed
• Monitor progress of participant fitness levels
• Explain safe and proper use of equipment
• Promote the facilities & fitness programs
• Perform CPR and administer first aid in case of emergency
• Inform clients about fitness center safety and hygiene guidelines
• Build a positive and trusting relationship with members and guests.
• Explain the function of exercise movement, describe the muscles worked and offer exercise modification to guests and members with physical restrictions.
• Monitor performance of guests and members during class to ensure their safety.

Other Responsibilities/Supportive Functions : In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions

• Regular attendance in conformance with our standards
• Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs including weekends, holidays, etc.
• Maintain cleanliness of the fitness center and equipment
• Research new exercise techniques and trends
• Provide advise on how to change nutritional and lifestyle habits as needed

Qualifications (relevant experience, education and training):
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Considerable knowledge of anatomy, physiology, principles of exercise and related elements of nutrition
• Previous experience as a pilates instructor or relevant role
• Knowledge of various fitness programs, from basic exercises to more challenging training sessions
• Ability to guide and motivate
• Excellent communication skills
• First Aid and CPR certified
• Current certification from Basi Pilates, Power Pilates, Fletcher Pilates or similar. A degree in Kinesiology or Sports Science is preferred
