Job Title: Laser Operator (1st Shift)

Job Description

Join a growing local manufacturer as a Laser Operator on 1st shift, where you will set up and operate CNC laser machinery to cut aluminum and carbon steel with precision. You will work from blueprints, perform quality checks, and use measuring tools to ensure accurate and high-quality parts in a small, clean job shop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC laser machinery for production runs.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine specifications and cutting requirements.
  • Make machine adjustments based on in-process quality checks and part inspection results.
  • Change out tooling and perform basic machine setup as needed for different jobs.
  • Cut holes and shapes in aluminum and carbon steel sheets or rolls according to job requirements.
  • Use various quality instruments such as micrometers, gages, and calipers to inspect parts.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC laser machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Proficiency using tape measures and applying basic math for measurements and conversions.
  • Experience using quality instruments such as micrometers, gages, and calipers.
  • Ability to work with sheet metal, including aluminum and carbon steel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with laser setup and laser operation in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with CNC laser operator duties in a production or fabrication shop.
  • Comfort working with various sheet metal thicknesses and materials.

Pay

$24/hr

Shift

6:00AM to 4:30PM Monday through Thursday ***Really busy right now, and working 8+ hours of overtime per week.***

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
