How you'll make an impact in this role Provide lactation care and instruction to breastfeeding mothers and infants. Serve as a lactation-related clinical resource, educator, and mentor.
- Must have IBCLC - International Board Certified Lactation Consultant
- Perform initial and on-going assessments of patients' lactation goals and issues. Instruct and demonstrate proper techniques and promote the importance of breastfeeding.
- Identify the need for standard patient teaching plans and assists with their development.
- Act as a liaison to staff and physicians when addressing needs associated with breastfeeding.
- Contribute to the development of data tools to monitor and improve outcomes.
What minimum requirements you'll need Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Certification specializing in Lactation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
What additional preferences we're seeking Must have IBCLC prior to start date.
